playlist four: pick me up songs.

Sometimes, the stress of school, work, and my oh-so-riveting personal life makes me want to shut myself in my dorm, creep into the crawl space under my bed and wallow. Unfortunately, I'm getting a little too old to construct forts in my room (a realization that makes me want to wallow in itself). Luckily, whenever I'm down, I know there are those songs that always make me happier. Nothing's a great mood booster like a fun, upbeat song. Fight wallowing! Post your pick-me-ups.

playlist three: party songs.

Some songs just make you wanna party, no matter the occasion. They put you in the mood, get you pumped up, and make you wanna move. I could be at a dance party, birthday party, driving-by-myself-on-the-way-to-the-mall party, but if someone starts blasting MIA, I have to drop whatever I'm doing to sing along. It's a reflex. Whenever I hear any of these songs, I know it's going to be a good night. These are my party songs; add yours.

playlist two: workout songs.

Even though I'm not the most active person at Williams (or even in the top third... you athletes...), I have learned a few strategies to make myself work harder. The most important one? Have a good workout mix! Being able to run to the beat of a high-power song gives me a much-needed boost of energy. Then it's hardly work at all. I have an entire iPod shuffle of workout songs, but here are the ones I like most. Lemme know what you think and don't forget to add your own!

playlist one: unconventional love songs.

Let's face it - everyone loves a good love song. Still, I can only listen to "You're Beautiful" on repeat so many times (i.e. once, if that) before I start craving some tracks with a little more substance. After all, love's a complex emotion, and not everyone experiences love the same way. In attempt to honor the diversity of the expression of love, I've tried to ditch those cheesy ballads in favor of some more unconventional tunes. Give it a listen, and don't forget to comment with your own favorite love songs! If they're out there in cyberspace, I'll add 'em to the playlist!
